Boarding

Blue Moon Farms offers boarding in a comfortable family atmosphere. We are conveniently located between Gastonia and Shelby. We are approximately 40 minutes West of Charlotte.

We are very close to several wonderful places to ride. Kings Mountain Battleground is a 15-minute trailer ride away and offers over 16 miles of horse trails. The Broad River Greenway is just a short distance away and offers scenic trails along the Broad River. There are also 29 miles of trails located within South Mountain State Park, which is nearby.

Monthly board includes the following services:

twice daily feedings (10% sweet feed & hay)
use of tack room
use of small dressage size arena
use of round-pen
on-site owner
experienced handlers
access to trails and use of our South Mountain Campsite

Fees:

Board - $350 per month
(includes use of stall at meal times and bad weather. Horses are turned out when the weather is nice.)

Full Stall Board w/ individual turnout, blanketing, daily grooming & feeding of owner provided supplements - $450 per month

Extra care can be provided for an additional fee. Extra care includes:

Grooming
Exercising (riding or lungeing)
Hand-walking
Clipping
Blanketing
Special Needs/Wound Care
Worming
Standing for Vet/Dentist
Hoof Trimming
Local Transportation
Trailer Parking
Special Feed
Additional Feed
Supplements

We also offer over-night boarding with a reservation. The rate is $25 per horse per night. We also have a bunkhouse available if you would like to spend the night with your horse. $35 per night (two people, $10 each additional person)

Current negative Coggins test and proof of Rabies vaccination is required before an horse can be delivered.

** Update our fence renovations are complete. We have replaced the majority of our fences with a much safer no climb (2x4) horse wire and smooth twisted wire. **

*Special pricing consideration may be given to multiple horses, as well as geriatric horses or retirees. We like to encourage the proper retirement of loyal companions after years of service.
