Blue Moon Farms makes the front page of the Gaston Gazette in an article written by Bernie Petit HORSEBACK RIDING Winston Churchill once said no hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle. That's a little hard to get if you never learned to horseback ride. Paige Livert knows. While she grew up riding horses, she regularly hears from adults who say they wanted to ride when they were kids but their parents couldn't put them in lessons. Several show up at Blue Moon Farms in Kings Mountain, co-owned by Livert. There she and others instruct them on how to mount, steer and stop a horse and how to position themselves on the majestic animals. I think the adults are probably just as excited as kids, Livert said. One advantage adult learners have is that they're usually more coordinated and physically capable. They're also often more considerate of the horse's feelings. After becoming comfortable with the horse, many adults can become good riders within a couple of months.
